A/C runs cold then quits
Probably low on coolant. You might want to try adding a can and see if that fixes the problem. I've used the cheap kits from auto parts stores, but just once if problem persists I would have it check out by somebody who knows the A/C system.
Most likely the A/C compressor is bad.
The clutch gets to worn to stay engauged when it is hot then it disenguages.
When it happens try CAREFULLY tapping the center of the clutch on the compressor with a stick and see if it comes back on.

We actually have 2 customers complaining of this same problem. After hooking up the gauges, the freon level is normal and pressure good. I was suspecting the clutch getting hot.
