Exclamation Idle/power starting problem!

I don't know what is wrong with my car, but I've been getting responses from friends containing the words "sensor problem". It happens on and off, which makes a sensor problem plausible. Sometimes, more often than not lately, when I turn my car on it idles real low and the car starts shaking. When I give it gas it takes its sweet time responding (sometimes not at all), then crawls up to ~2000rpm and stays there. I restart and restart the car till it comes back to life and I'm lucky if it runs the next time. When I put it in gear when it's having the problem it doesn't even get up to 2000rpm, it just moves at idling speed. The only way to get it to a mechanic to get tests done is if the car runs. And every time I seem to get it to a shop it doesn't have the problem anymore. I'm beginning to think my car doesn't want to be fixed. Any ideas??

MAF sensor. I would disconnect it and see if the car starts and runs better. If it does, in need to be replaced.

:-\ I've had that go bad on me before; that was my first thought and I disconnected it, started the car up and had the same problem.

Take it behind the barn and threaten that you will put a bullet in it. See if it messes with you again

All jokes aside, get one of those diagnostic tools, hook it up to the terminal and when the car starts giving you the problem you said a code will come up that will explain the culprit

Thanks I'll try that. It will probably come as one of dozens of error codes, I've neglected my poor car I'm a terrible car owner.

I hooked up a CarChip to the OBDII and I got a P0013 code. "B" Camshaft Position - Actuator Circuit (Bank 1) is what it says as a description. Would that explain my problem..?
