Default Leaking Gas

I put a new fuel filter on and now I am leaking a little gas on the tank side of the filter. I think I messed up the hose when I pulled it off the filter. It was stuck pretty hard with lots of undercoating all over it. Should I just buy a new hose from the tank to the filter? There is like a nipple that goes over the filter and it's leaking kind of inside that nipple. It's rubber actually slides apart and that's where the gas is coming out. Think I could just put a clamp on it? There was not one on there.

You migth end up replacing the hose. Try removing it again and then reinstall it and see if it help stop it.

If not then you messed up the connector on the hose. It just slides on and seals.

Sorry wait till you go to replace it.

I think you might have to drop the tank some to install it.

You've got to be kidding me. I can feel where it comes out of the tank. This could be one of those time when I'm glad my daughter married a mechanic, and he wants to borrow the wagon for a trip next weekend. It goes like this: Well it needs a new gas line from the tank to the filter, I have the hose, but I haven't had time to put it on. I was planning to do it on the weekend, but if you put the hose on before then, you can borrow it.

LOL Sounds good to me!!!
It should go to the Fuel pump assembly. It should slide off that like it does the filter.
You might be able to sneak it out but I doubt it.

OK how much work is it to lower the fuel tank? There are two straps on it that will need to be losened and I guess I have to disconnect where the neck goes into the tank. Anything else? Probably be easier if I had an empty tank too wouldn't it?

I got it. Hose is on. Tank was a pain to do that's for sure. The hardest part was getting the correct hose off the top of the tank when you really can not see what you are doing, but the new hose is on and the car starts.
