Looking for a used V 70
I'm looking for a used V 70. I'm looking at 96 to 2000. With some lower miles . So I'm going to pay . Is there any year better that others ? Or is the XC model better than theGLT ?The R model just cost to much .Because I see that some owners don't like the 2000. This would be a car for my wife and kids . She would only drive the car 5 K a year. Also should I pay for a warranty ? Offered by a dealer.
Thanks for the help
I'm the proud owner of a 91 240 with 131 K.

Well the V70 was made first in 98 and this probably the best year until you get to about 2002. I would stay away from 99-01. I have a 98 V70 GLT and it's a very good car, but personally I like the 850's a little better. So you can get a 96 or 97 850 Wagon and it is virtually the same car. I would gowith a low pressure turbo model.
Thanks Jimfor the help . Your advice will be well taken when I buy . Iwas thinking thatthe 99 and 2000 were going just a little to cheap . What do you thinkabout the V70's on EBAY ? Would you take a chance on one ? Because I've been looking there . Car Fax is making money on me . What do you think ?
Thanks

Hard to tell about cars on e-bay. I don't like the fact that I'm entering a transaction w/o seeing the car. I find most mine on autotrader.com. I'm not saying I would not buy one on e-bay, but you have to be really careful. I would have a prepurchase inspection on any car before I commit to buy it. I rarely buy locally either though. Closest I bought any of mine was 200 miles away. Furthest was about 550 miles. I flew in for $117 and had agreement that they would take me back to the airport if I didn't buy the car. I bought it and drove it home. Autotrader said it was 400 miles and it was closer to 600.
I bought mine off Ebay site unseen but I was real lucky. I got if for a real good price and knew I was gonna try to sell it if I didn't like it. I got the 98 v70 and some say that is the last of the "real volvo".
