Maybe a 98 V70R
New to the forum and would liked to say Hello.
I have been anticipating purchasing a Volvo for some time now. I have my eye on a 98 V70R listed at $6500 with 78k that would be used as a daily driver (I'm tired of refilling the truck). I know this is a fairly old vehicle but it is in realy nice condition low mileage and it's an "R". Of course I am not going to take the plunge unless it passes inspection and test drive but I was wondering what you guy thought about the price. I was thinking about offering $6500 OTD because the dealership has no documented maintenance and the timing belt is due for replacement. Because the vehicle is located to far for me to make more than one visit, I do not have the luxury of walking out unless he meets my price. I plan on negotiating over the phone assuming it is as described. This way, as long as the car passes inspection and test drive the price has been established. Also, any recommendations on what to watch out for are appreciated.

Thanks,
We will see how this pans out. I have the carfax inspection log and am now trying to track the vehicles service history from VIN#. Hopefully the owner had the car serviced at Volvo. Anyway, if it isn't this car the wife is trying to convence me to buy her a new model S60. Looks like I'll be frequenting these forums for one or the other.
