Probable cause of oil seep near timing belt?
Hi All. I thought I'd try to utilize your expertise to narrow my oil leak search. When I was replacing the timing belt on my '99 V70XC a couple weeks ago, I found a small oil seep when I pulled the timing belt cover. The leak appeared to be higher than the water pump (which I replaced at the time) but I couldn't find anything more than that. I did wipe everything off so I could look again later to see a possible starting point. Not having done that yet, I was wondering if anyone could tell me the "probable/possible" culprits in that general location. That would help me have a better idea of what I might be in for.
Any thoughts?

Most likley a "cam seal", i had a similar issue, cam seal & oil pump seal was my problem.
I would say cam seal but if its a slow seep.
good luck

Most likely Cam seal. Was the top by the spark plugs wet as well?
Thanks for the advice Tech and v70 2.4t!

NO I wanted to make sure the oil cap seal wasn't leaking.
The Cam seals are known to leak. But the vent system usually clogs as well causing the seals to leak.

Ok. Thanks for the help!
As usual, it's on to the next/more important problem...just noticed last night that I've got coolant on the outer edge of the passenger side of the radiator. A very small puddle under the car too. [sigh] If it's not one thing it's another...
