hello,
I own a 1997 V70...and I cannot reset the SERVICE-light in the dashboard.

Tried everything I found on the internet...Pushing RESET button 10 secs, push KEY to II, etc....no succes.

What is the trick for my model to solve this?

hi, try this
1. turn ignition to pos I
2. press and keep odomer down
3. turn ignition to pos II
4. wait for blinking idicator
5. release odo and hope for the best
at least this works for my v70MY06

This is a quote I found for from another forum, not sure if it is 100% correct

From '96 850's through '98 70 series Volvo's there is no way except for the dealer or a few other tools (very few) out there. IPD sells one but they want $165 some odd for theirs. I found the DRAPER RESET TOOL on eBay and bought one including shipping from some guy in England. Don't know why they're all from England but they are. Search for one on eBay....it works great, and will also reset your SRS (airbag) light if you ever do something and cause it to come on.[/align]

 

Yes a special reset tool is needed to reset it.

 

Another vote for the DRAPER tool from ebay.UK...it works!
