Seat Switch

Seat Switch
98 V70R.
The driver's side power seat switch that is used to move the seat back and forth seems to be acting up. It will move the seat back, but not forward. Pressing one of the memory buttons, the seat does move forward, so I think the mechanics are OK. Since the car is equipped with SIPS I am a little afraid to go poking around. Are the switches that move the seat easily and safely replaced? Are there instructions someplace about how to access them without blowing up the SIPS system?
Thanks Much.

RE: Seat Switch
SIPS= Side Impact Protection System.
The panel can come off just be careful.
They aren't really easily set off. Once you lift the panel off you will see a silver round looking thing.It has a flat peice of metal looped infront of it kind of. On the back of the panel is a Red clip looking thing. Slide it inbetween the 2 metal peices. Then it won't setoff unless you take the seat out and drop it.
When the 2 metal peices hit each other pretty hard that is what sets it off.
