Default side marker lights

Does anyone know if the side marker lights from a 2001 + car will fit the slots for the early V70 (98 - 00)? I want to add them to my 98 V70R and I have found a much better price on the '01+ units - just need to make sure they will fit.

thx!

I don't know, but I don't think it will look right either.

Have you checked out Ebay they have good deals on the proper sidemarker lights.

that's where i found both types (ebay) and they look virtually identical. it may be that the ones listed for the early 70 were aftermarket or something, but they were the shorter style like the '01+ style. if the hole underneath the name plate is the same size, then i would think either one would fit (?? just a guess.)

The hole might be the same size. But that doesn't mean they used the same type of connector on the sidemarker.

I was looking at those the other day as well, the stock old style ones have an amber lense and look just like the newer ones like on S40's ect. the only concern i would have would be the curveature of the lense housing and if it fit the fender well.

If your car do not have them the connecter is not importand because you'll need to wire them on your own anyway, i wouldn't think that the wires are there already, well that's what it says on fcpgrotons site

BTW groton sells clear ones for your car for #30 pair

I think the holes are different.
The plug is different as well.

I have a set of the 01 and newer in the fenders on my stang.

they look really similar to the ones that IPD and FCP Grotton sell. I believe they are the same as the 2000+ C70s, so that should be the same (since they are essentially the same front fenders as the V70/S70.)
