Angry V70 2.4 won't start after head rebuilt

I replaced the Head on my 99 V70 carefully lined the marks bled the lifters down now it won't start seems to have trouble pumping up the lifters ?
have had this problem on other 2.4s but usually starts after repeated cranking did not have cam holding tool but used extreme caution in lining up marks and rechecked repeatedly while baring over . Any thoughts?

Yeah that happened to me when I resealed the cam cover on my T5. It scared the crap out of me when it wouldn't start because I was positive the timing was perfect. On top of that I damn near had a heart attack when after cranking it for a bit I lost compression. If you're sure the timing is dead on just keep cranking the engine until it starts. I ended up cranking mine for about a minute to a minute and a half straight until it built compression and the engine started.

I would start by checking compression. If you have to crank long, do it at WOT (not sure if that matters with the ETM cars).

I have cranked and cranked rechecked the timing marks dead on . it fires ocasionally the compression is up to 148 to 150 has injector drive and spark can the exhaust VVT get moved to its limit and cause a no start?

Still having the no start issue any help would be appreciated 148 to 150 compression if you clean the plugs and spin it fires a few times and sounds almost like its out of time

does any one have a picture of what the rear of the exhaust cam should look like when lined up properly with the timing belt marks so I can tell if the VVT is moved to far ?

Did you turn your crank while the timing belt was off?
