Default V70 AWD Nivomat Conversion

Hello

I know this is a thread which comes back time and time again but hope to get the definitive answer!!!

People have converted AWD V70's (late 1990's 'Classic' Shape) from Nivomat rear suspension to a more standard (and less costly) option.

They say they fit heavier springs etc, but don't seem to specifiy where they get the parts from, part numbers etc.

Can someone spills the beans? !!!!

I would plan to use standard 'Sachs' shocks as used on non-Nivomat cars, but they are slimmer than Nivomats and have an 'eye' at the bottom rather than a fixing bar.

I can make the fixing bar from the old shocker fit, but what have you done to make the top mount fit correctly without rattling about?

People say they have been fitting Heavy Duty Springs to compensate for the sag if the original springs were left on.

Which spings, suppliers and part numbers? !!!

Hope you can help.

If it works I am happy to spread the word via other Volvo Forums!!!

Regards,

Steve Bonner

Sorry, don't have personal experience w/nivomats, but what i found via google..

As far as what springs, assume use stock springs designed for the sachs shocks. Looks like FCP has the springs, others I am sure too..
