V70 - Intermittent Starting Problems
We own a 98 V70 with 170K. In the last month I had the following problem with the car. The car was driven roughly 3 miles. It sat for 10 minutes. When I returned the car would turn over but it would not start. After sitting awhile, it finally started. When it happened, it was during a period of heavy rain - very high humidity.
After it happened the first time, no problem for 30 days - car starts on first crank. Today it happened again. I'm uncomfortable driving the car not knowing when this could occur.
Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated.

How old are the ignition wires?
You can check them if they are OEM wires.
They will have a date stamped into them. The numbers will be in Yellow or white writing.

I'll take a look at the plug wires tomorrow. I stopped by a Auto Zone today and they thought it might be a fuel pump going.
Questions
1. If the plug wires are old, should I go ahead and replace them.
2. If the fuel pump is going, is it typical to have it operate on an intermittent basis.
Thanks for the help

I'm having a similar problem. Unfortunately, it's escalated to sometimes happening in dry weather, and occasionally stalling. My parents had similar problems with their '87 and '89 250's In those, it was the MAS. I'm checking it out on mine next week. Let me know how your's goes.
