I was just going through my seemingly untouched Owners manual wallet of my recently acquired '04 V70R and There is an official form for application for Extended warranty Contract Coverage in there. I am wondering would this be a transferable warranty like an original manufactures warranty? Maybe I should take this form to the guys at the dealer down the road to check what they say. This Warranty is dated 2/23/06 and extender the warranty to 84 months 160,000KM at a cost of $2879.00

If this comes through this could be a nice little added bonus to a new to me used car !

Yeah my parents bought their used(only had 1000)07 V70R may of 07, and their are getting an Extended warrenty soon.
You should be able to get an Extended warrenty.

EDIT: Hey..you got the 6 speed manual right? That transmission might be better then the auto...I know the "R" is quicker with a stick.

 

I guess I was mis understood, I believe the car already has an extended warranty that was purchased and I am curious if it is still valid since a change of ownership. I guess I'll check with a Dealer.

Check with the dealer. I have no experience with Volvo, but when I bought used Lincoln, I had to pay $50 warranty ownership transfer fee.

If your Volvo has less than 50,000 on it you can purchase the extended warranty - it brings it to 5 or 6 years or 100,000 miles - depending on the one you bought

Mine was $1,500 for a V70; my father's was more expensive for his V70 XC

 

The easiest way to get the Volvo Extended Warranty (VIP) is direct. The dealers often push 3rd party plans and stay away from the ones on the internet.
