Wheel play

Wheel play
When I jack the front end of my 1998 V70 I get significant wheel play when I move the wheels with my hands at 3 and 9 o'clock. I don't get any wheel play when I move the wheel with my hands at 12 and 6 o'clock. Does this indicate that I need to replace my tie rod ends and not the control arms?

OK i had the same issue & turned out to be my inner tie rod end of my Front right tire.
Now the problem has been fixed, but the suspension pops from time to time when your turning.
You can actually hear a loud pop.
Sorry for thread jackin.
but rather keep the same topic on here rather than to start another pointless thread

I will inspect them, but last I inspected them I did not notice any worn booth or anything.
I did notice a bad grease trail though, grease from the cv booth. But like I said it didnt appear torn or anything.
Unless its a small tear that i havent noticed.
I will do some further inspection, and post my finds.
