Intermittent srs airbag warning when cold
Okay forum here’s a tricky one. BF took my car and it came back with an intermittent warning light that only comes on when it’s cold out. It’s the SRS airbag warning. He says nothing strange happened when he drove but he said his tall kid moved the passenger seat all the way back. This is the first time the seat was ever moved all the way back. All passengers have been short. Is this a clue or a fluke? I don’t know.
I took the car to my local dealership 3.5 hrs away and they ran the codes and replaced the passenger seat sensor. They charged me $1000 and I picked my car and the light was on! Needless to say my car is still at the dealership and has been there for a month! They can’t figure it out so I’m asking you experts! What do we check next? I suggested a wiring harness but they aren’t seeing anything there.

do you know which SRS code was being presented? could be wiring (not uncommon for the under seat wires to get kicked) could be the airbag itself. the fact that it only presents when its cold out suggests a contact is opening when some metal contracts. You may try spraying devices/connectors with some cold spray (electronics repair trick) to see if the light comes on.

they said code said it was a sensor. But now can’t diagnose.
