Hi,

coil spring on the front right wheel broke yesterday.

The car is 5 years old, 75 000 km. It is a XC60 D3 2016/2017, made in Sweden.

Isn’t it a bit too soon for a spring to break?

The new car warranty expired 6 months ago. Wondering if there’s any extended warranty if this turns out to be material or fabrication issue.

 

broken springs are fairly common, just some poor timing so close to the end of the warranty period. To note I've replaced 3 of 4 on our 2000 S40. You may want to talk to a dealer about any possible good will given the timing to the warranty.
