Centre console intermittently going blank and turning off and on again
Hi all,
I've got a 2019 XC60 R Design T5 and we've been having a couple of issues with the centre console randomly switching off.
We could be driving along and then the radio would cut out along with the bluetooth connectivity, then the map and then it would just go blank and there would be no way of restarting it.
5 mins later it would just start up again, its recently been serviced (problem was happening before the service) and everything software wise is up to date.
So really baffled as what it could be and Volvo garage we cant get to until the New Year due to Covid restrictions.
Just concerned it could be a wider electric issue with the car.

Sensus (your radio/bluetooth/Nav/phone system) is software driven as is much of all modern Volvo cars systems such as ABS, traction control, etc.
This sounds like a dealer issues of updating the software or at least checking for a software issue or reset.
This is based on the many software issues I've seen posted here and other forums. Updates or resets usually always fix the problems. As an I.T. person, I find software updates annoying but always necessary. Modern cars are now no different.
The other issue may be a loose connection, such as a plastic socket leading to the console that just needs to be pushed in tighter. I am not familiar with the 2019 so cannot tell you where it is or which one it might be, but chances are it's only one or two.
Good luck and I hope you have a good Christmas and New Year.
