Default considering a 2011 xc 60 t6

i have been a saab 93 owner for 4 year and absolutely lobe swedish vehicles, there great value. Thus the reason why know that i have my third child on the way i need my second vehicle to be a cross over, i will love to own a volvo xc60 but i don't know they are dependable, its ether a (used)2011 xc 60 t6, or a cadillac srx, or maybe a new honda crv (i would not get the luxury but at least i know i will not have to put in money into repairs.

-what are the opinions of people that already own this vehicle, is there anything i should be looking for for tell tell signs,

-i have herd that the t6 are not easy on gas, what are realistic mpg?
-what options should i pass on?
-is 2012 a better year than 2011 or 2010?

any info will be great help thanks!!!!

To he completely honest if you're going to have a new born and 2 other kids in the car I would go for the safest car possible (for worst case scenario of course, hopefully it doesn't get to that) and that is the xc60. They do have their fair share of problems but what car doesn't. I always like to tell people if they want to get a used Volvo, get a extended warranty and not a cheap one preferably a CPO or VIP. With parts prices they way they are worth it. Also there is a big problem with the engines in states with strait emissions. What state are you in? (If outside the US you might be OK)

I would stay away from the I6 twin turbo Volvo. Also they have been known to have Tranny problems in their earlier years. I wouldn't get any of the other cars either! Stick to what you know and like. I am sure you can make it work and with the economy and all why spend when you don't have to!

These don't have a twin turbo rguy, I'm pretty sure you are thinking of the wrong car. There were some problems with the valve bodies but not as often as you think but that's why I recommend the extended warranty. And I've only replaced one TF80 transmission but only because it had close to 250k on it.
