Default Driving Journal

I see reference to a Driving Journal here and there but don't know where to find it nor how to use it.

Am I missing something or is this another one of Volvo's "patience is a virtue" exercises?

I picture it working something like my cat's GPS tracking device. That lets me see a history of the cat's movements all mapped out. I can set the beginning and end of the timespan of interest.

The Driving Journal is part of the Volvo app on your smartphone. "When enabled, trip data from your Volvo is recorded in the driving journal. This data is visible to all accounts connected to your Volvo."

My Volvo app on my smartphone does not seem to have a driving journal.

Perhaps I can't see it because my app crashes. Across the bottom there are 5 icons, the middle one is a picture of the front of the car. Tapping on that gets me to a screen with a picture of the car, saying 2023 XC60.

That screen also has a selection labeled "Car software." When I tap on that , the app crashes. That much I have already reported to Volvo. Perhaps that screen, if working, would have a link to the driving journal. I'm just grasping at straws here! It may not actually have anything to do with a driving journal.

Across the bottom of the app there are 5 icons. Select the rightmost icon, which is a crude outline of a person. Then go to App Settings, then Driving Journal Settings, and then enable the recording. If your app is continually crashing, it may be that your account is not connected to your Volvo. Normally the setting up of the Volvo app on your phone is done with the salesperson at the dealership when you purchase the vehicle. You should contact your salesperson if the app continues crashing.

"then go to App Settings, then Driving Journal Settings, and then enable the recording. "

Thanks, but there is no "Driving Journal Settings" so that might explain the problem, but then we get to "WHY is there no such setting?" My car DOES show as a connected vehicle and shows that it is paired. Perhaps I should disconnect and then reconnect. I'll call the salesman first in case there is something tricky about reconnecting.

If you have a newer model XC60 which has AAOS, the driving journal isn’t available yet.

Correct. My Volvo is a 2021 -- the year before the Great Leap Forward.
