Default Good things about XC60 2023 T8

This is a list of things I love about my Volvo. This post is kind of a reply to Bad things about XC60 2023 T8

1) Almost everything is old school. Yes, we have to appreciate this nowadays. Door handles open doors (hello Cadillac Lyric), steering wheel is round (hello Tesla Y), hood opens with a center latch (hello Volvo XC40), rain wipers is a handle on the right (hello Tesla), no sensor buttons (hello all stupid cars that have them), volume changer is a **** (hello old CR-V and new Mercedes GLC).

2) Everything looks very nice and with a great build quality. Infotainment system looks gorgeous. All lightning, handles, materials, steering wheel, all buttons.

3) Some features are great: all door handles are lit inside and outside (CR-V has none). All door handles can open/close car (CR-V has only front doors). All windows have auto-push (CR-V has only front).

4) Front seats are same (many cars provide a less advanced passenger seat) and are very comfy and also quite firm which is good for long travels.

5) Pilot/lane assist and other such features are working very nicely, it is fun to use them and you feel&appreciate how car helps you drive.

6) Switch between electric and gas engine is smooth and almost unnoticeable.

7) This car is fun to drive. I think it even drives better than Mazda CX-5 (which I consider to be perfect crossover from driving pov).

8) Very quiet inside, doors are very heavy and thick. (unfortunately you have to smash doors to close, but I am OK to pay such price for having a heavy doors)

9) Gorgeous music (I have B&W, but I heard H/K is also great).

10) Display is portrait oriented. This is much much better design, I have no idea why all other cars have it landscaped (only other cars with portrait I know are Tesla and new GLC)

11) Profiles that remember 1) google account 2) all apps 3) seat position 4) HUD position 5) rain sensor on/off 6) some of driving settings. And the best thing - profile can be assigned to a key, my wife always use her key to open door, and seat auto adjusts while she opens the door!

12) Pure electric range 40 miles (well, I have to mention this, because this was the main reason I bought this car and not GLC)

Things that I don't consider a useful feature, but this car has them:

1) Power.

2) Safety ads that "Volvo is the safest car in the world"

Portrait format is the better way to present a map. The wide landscape screens in other cars just give you a better view of side roads that you probably won't take. I haven't used the Volvo dash interface (because I don't have a Volvo yet), and I'm not looking forward to the glass cockpit way of driving, but this does look better for navigation.

The attention to detail and focus on simplicity is something to be admired, especially in a world where cars are becoming increasingly complex. The build quality and design are also something to appreciate. It's great that the features such as the auto-push windows and all-lit door handles are working so well for you. You may need news about Volvo to improve it even more. There are some news sites on the Internet, such as https://zumroad.com/automotive. There you can even find reviews of different car brands and compare them. I think your Volvo is definitely superior to other brands.
