The transmission was kicking badly not too long ago. I've changed the transmission fluid and the motor mounts and the kicks are less frequent but still happening occasionally. Mostly, when shifting from 2 to 3 or 3 to 2. Any suggestions as to what else to check for? Thanks.

 

Do a search on "B4 Servo cover/replacement", that might help. Also, please tell me you used the correct fluid when you changed it out (Mobil 3309 or the Toyota equivalent)

 

Yes, we used the right ATF ( I checked the forum first . The RPMs weren't really flaring from 2-3, it just kicked a bit, so I don't think it could be the B4 servo cover, but my husband is going to check it anyhow. I just took it on a longer highway road trip and the kicking seems to have stopped, could it be that the transmission fluid needed to work itself through the system, since basically I do a 5 mile drive a day to work and the car never really gets a chance to heat up. Thanks for the help.
