New exhaust while I have easy access?
I've pulled the engine/transmission via dropping the subframe because I am swapping the transmission. I'm replacing all the obvious maintenance parts (hoses, seals, mounts, belts, etc.).
Here's the question: Should I replace the exhaust (converter & muffler) while I'm at it? It's a '98 with 140k in Vermont (salt). It looks and feels solid, but....

I just replaced all of the exhaust on my 96 850 wagon. I had to weld the original just behind the Cat and also just around the clamp (RI/MA/CT car) about 4.5 years ago. it held up okay(in FL) but I can see small pin hole leaks. I replaced it because I pulled the motor for a rebuild and it was time. Also replaced the header because the bolts were just not worth the effort( and I'm very frugal and a masochist, so I guess that's saying something). Don't know if the XC has the same exhaust though???
XC has turbo engine, so different exhaust. The exhaust I took off my parts car had a crack at the cat/pipe weld that showed evidence of previous MIG repair. I have no intention of using that one, for sure!
