I tried the post here to rest service but it did not work. tried it several times and did not flash or anything - manuakl says something about pushing the end of the blinker lever but that seems to make it go off until next start up

 

You have to keep trying it. Sometimes it is real stubborn. Sometimes it takes like 20 times before it works.
