I have a 2001 V70XC with a strange problem. If key is in position I - all three brake lights come on when stepping on the brake pedal. Same for position II. When the key is then turned to start the car, the top (LED) stop lamp goes out and does not function again until the car is turned off, at which time it lights up again. I tried all three keys to see if one was worn, but even the seldom used valet key results in the same issue.

Any ideas? I have a great shop, but they are 25 miles away and would like to avoid the time if possible. Thanks in advance!
