My experience here with my Volvo dealer has been positive.
When I buy a part from them, they make money.
If I have a question, they often page a tech for me. All it takes is less than 1 minute of the tech's time.
Win-win situation: the dealer makes money on the part, the tech feels good because he just helps another human being, and I am happy.

I get what you're saying, and that's great that your dealer does that. If there is a customer buying a part at the counter, I don't mind as much.
But if someone called and said they bought the part elsewhere and need help, sorry, not happening. I go to work to make money. I also love when some guy will walk into the shop and ask me a question.
