Default Specific condenser question

car: 1996 850

i'm replacing my condenser (was a wrecked car) , problem being that i have a bare radiator with no threads for the condenser's bolts. I can see where the holes in the plastic flanges on the rad. and cond. line up, but no threads.

I'm guessing there should be some metal clips on the rad, but i need to know specifically what to ask for when i call the junkyard because I can't describe it to them.

EDIT: also, i'm having a problem with a stumbling idle at startup, after the car has been sitting for a bit, cold or still warm. it only does this for 10 seconds or so, and then runs perfectly. it isn't throwing any codes. problem with the air pump maybe?

I believe the part # is 949921 they should be cheap from the dealer.

Try cleaning the throttle body for the startup problem.

You won't believe this, but i got the clips in the mail from the junkyard. I called them last Tuesday and told them i needed them, they never called me back so I assumed I was SOL until I found them in my mailbox yesterday. So yeah, fyi CARGUTS in Blacksburg, SC is extremely helpful and has great prices. (60 bucks for condenser and the hose to evap. hard pipe)

I gave it a couple Italian tune-ups hoping to clear some carbon, guess I'll have to resort to the manual method like you suggest.

BTW, when was the last time the car had received a good full tune-up? Volvos are extremely sensitive to neglect.

Good luck to you,

Okay, what goes in between the condenser and radiator? Went to install the cond. and the lines and I can tell from where the plastic is worn that something else was also mounted to the rad. Another fan?
