2012 XC90 six cylinder. When I shut the car off there is a whistle noise from under the hood. It lasts for up to two minutes usually less. Two dealers have told me that this is common in the XC90. The second dealer tells me that it is from a cooling fan in the ECM. This noise has happened since the car was new and at 30K miles it is louder and lasting longer than it did when new. Is this a symptom of something going bad like a bearing in the fan? I would not like to find that when my warranty expires that I will have to pay for a new fan. This noise is not from the engine cooling fan that runs whenever it wants to when the car is shut off.

This is our second XC90 and if they still make them in 2018 we will buy another one.
