Default Adding aftermarket GPS to factory stereo questions?

So I'm looking to install a dash mount gps/stereo to a 2006 xc90 4.4. It looks like there are now plug and play options available that aren't 600-800$. The model below is what I'm looking at. It has a harness that will work with the xc90. What I'm trying to find out is if all the xc90s have fiber optic connections to the stereo into the CANBUS? Or is it regular wiring and only fiber optic on certain/special models? I've found they sell a alternate style harness that is suppose to integrate into a factory fiber optic setup. I've looked around and can't find much info on the xc90 stereo system/options. I've already replaced all the door speakers and added dynamat behind the door panels as well as added a small 8" subwoofer in the rear.

Yes, in all 2003-2014? xc90s the communication between infotainment modules is by fiber optics. Those are the orange "wires" plugged into each module. If anything in the optic or "MOST" network is disconnected - the system does not work. In the diagrams the dashed lines are to optional equipment, such as the SUB (subwoofer module) or the PHM (phone). All cars will have the ATM - antenna module, ICM info control, (on the dash) and the AUDio module. (amplifier) Some of the audio system modules are on the canbus also.
