I'm suffering from AM radio issues. I know there's been a lot of discussion around this topic on other models, but I don't see anything specific to the XC90's and the old threads seem to have a lot of questions and not a lot of answers.

I'm consolidating 2 2008 XC90's down to one. I had no AM band at all in this vehicle from the day we bought it 5 years ago. I recently swapped the IAM and now enjoy mostly static on the AM band. There's no roof antenna. It's in the glass in the rear passenger cargo area. I've swapped the audio amplifier with a known working one, cleaned contacts, checked window traces with marginal improvements. If i disconnect the antenna at the window and hold the connector, I get good reception using my body as the antenna.

I'm thinking of buying an external antenna. Anyone have any expereince or suggestions going from the Fakra connector to a DIM style antenna? Cheers.
