BAD VCM and no Connection with VIDA
So, I have a 2016 XC90 T6 AWD Momentum. My maps randomly went out and the car didn't know its location. As well as you couldn't connect to the internet via mobile hotspot or Wi-Fi. I was told by two dealers the VCM module was bad. The second dealer fully went through everything and verified the wiring was good. The shot the module bad. I purchased a VCM module off eBay from a very highly rated place. Came from a 2017 XC90 Momentum and the exact same model/part number. Also, why the dealer said it was the VCM is it would not connect to their system/VIDA at all. I swapped the VCM out and went to connect to VIDA. How should the car connect with VIDA? Is it just automatic or do you have to click the connection type in the drop down and click connect? I can manually enter my VIN and everything shows up. When I go to say click an action it says vehicle needs to be connected. The connect button is greyed out and in the drop down there is nothing its blank. So, is the module bad again or do I need to reset the module somehow? Or is there a certain way to connect the car to VIDA beyond just plugging in the OBD to ethernet connect and ethernet cable? It's the official Volvo one as well. Thanks for any help.
