A/C Problem
We have a 2006 Volvo XC90. We live in Phoenix, where it's very hot in the summer. We purchased this vehicle last December. Occasionally, the A/C does not turn on at all, but then a little while later, while driving, it will just start working. When it works, the air is cool and everything seems fine. Anyone have any idea what the problem could be or has anyone experienced the same thing?
i'd have a shop check the high/low pressures and add refrigerant if needed (this will be cheap) and also check if the compressor is engaging when it should be running (there's a magnetic clutch that engages/disengages the compressor as needed).
I had pretty similar experience, took it in, and it works perfectly now. Turned out to be a small leak in one of the hoses and the freon was low. Had Volvo do the service, $125
