Just purchased a 2007 XC90 w/ 42,000 miles. Carmax will sell me their "bumper-to-bumper" extended warranty for the next 5 years and 60,000 miles for $2,100. Should I buy it?

I disagree. An extended warranty is a good idea, but only get it from the source. Carmax, or often the dealerships, do not sell you the Volvo Extended Plan. They will be cheap but not cover what you would expect.

You want the VIP (Volvo Increased Protection) Plans which are administered by APCO (Automobile Protection Corporation). It's called the EasyCare Coverage and comes in different levels. Only it will cover your Volvo like you expect - with genuine Volvo parts and service.
