Check engine light p0089

I went to Firestone again for the check engine light. They checked it out and told me a story involving 3 different alternatives to resolve the problem. Since they cannot make sure what is the exact problem, they offered to change fuel filter first, if it is not work, fuel pressure sensor as a second alternative. As a last chance, the fuel pump, the most expensive alternative. I believe with this codes, any mechanic will tell you the sane story. They changed the fuel filter (it costed to me around $250 with diagnostic). It took 3 days to kept the light off. Then, I was thinking to get my sensor changed, I bought a full tank of gas and reset check engine light by myself. The light is off for almost 10 days.
So I do not have a check engine light on and still do not know what was the problem. Thus, my recommendation to anybody, buy a full tank gas before do anything. The problem can be just related the pressure in the gas tank.
I will update if any other changes happen.

I'd try the fuel filter. it is a maintenance item that should be replaced periodically anyway and it is cheap and easy.

So i really am lost on this possible fuel filter fix. I couldnt find it after talking to IPD. I call the dealership in tulsa and they told me to just follow the line but they couldnt tell me where on the car it was. I called the Okc dealership and they said there wasnt a filter and that it was actually integrated into the fuel pump dangling in the tank. I then called an independent mechanic whom i trust more than the dealership and he claims its somewhere near the tank but its a little hard to get to.
Does anybody know where this thing is? Im pretty sure it exist and the okc dealership is just being crazy because i have the replacement filter right here in my hand. It came in a blue box with the volvo name all over it.

05 xc90 fuel pressure regulator
WOW, not much activity on this forum, sad, I rely on forums like this for assistance.
As to how to change fuel regulator, easy, it is on driver side of fuel rail on the 2.5T engine, one screw to remove, put rag around bottom as you slowly twist it back and forth to release, pretty easy for most to replace.
