Codes P043E and P0190 Running rough!
I tried a word search on the P043E and nothing came up so I'm throwing it out there....
Wife came back from a short trip and the car was running rough, loss of power, CEL, and the codes came back as P043E and P0190. Now, the fuel sensor code has been coming and going for months, I just haven't changed it (lazy) but it never ran rough due to it popping on occasionally. But this time, it's running as if in limp mode. At first I thought a bad coil, seems almost like it's running on five cylinders. I recently had to replace a coil so I was familiar with the symptom. But then I ran the codes.
I'm a bit confused as to why the rough running...I wouldn't think either of those issues would cause a limp mode situation. The P0190 has come and gone on its own for a while and never changed the way it ran. The P043E obviously changed things but still I wouldn't think a leak detection pump failure would cause the rough running, would it?
Any help on this folks? It's a bit of a head-scratcher for me. Thanks!!
