Default Front end noice - 2007 XC90

Our XC90 developed a noise in the front end recently. The last time we had the oil changed, the mechanic told us that we needed new sway bar links. I replaced both, but still have noise on the driver side. The passenger side made some noise at first, but settled in after a couple of days. Any ideas what else could be making that noise?

How would you describe the noise? When does it happen? For example, when coming to a stop, when turning, when accelerating, when switching gears, etc?

My XC90 (2008 3.2 I6 with 117k miles) has a clicking sound from the front end when coming to a stop, which I was told last time I took it to my mechanic that the control arms/bushings needed replacement, so that is on my hit list to replace.

Of course that is a slippery slope because if the control arms or bushings need replacement, I might as well do the rest of the suspension bits too, such as sway bar end links, struts etc.

I did leave that part out - I get the noise on corners. Agreed on the slippery slope. I'm wondering if I should just endure the financial pain and replace it all. I've had opinions of A-arms, sway bar, steering rack.....
