Hello all, I have an unusual (or so I think) issue with my DVD remote. A quick history... my DVD player stopped working months ago. Thinking it might have been the remote because buttons have popped off and in general disrepair, we replaced the old one, still no joy. The Volvo dealership installed a new DVD player after finding out it was shorted out. Got that to work but only the top buttons work on the remote to operate the player, as does the old remote. The dealer showed me a trick for testing the remote laser. If you aim the remote at your phone camera, it will light up and be visible on the screen. That being said, I receive the light for every button on the remote, yet only a couple buttons work the DVD player such as power and menu, that's it. I wanted to see if anyone else has replaced a factory remote with a genuine Volvo remote to have the same issue and/or resolution. Sorry so long, just wanted to provide the right details, thanks in advance.
