XC90 T6 PCV Help
Hello,
I started on replacing the PCV oil trap in my 2004 Volvo XC90 T6. I removed the intake manifold and placed it aside and can now see the PCV. I removed the bolt that is further away from the alternator on the PCV. However, I can't see the bolt that is toward the alternator. Has anyone done an oil trap replacement before? How did you get to that bolt near the alternator? Did you remove the alternator? I've looked at some of the 2.5T writeups and am very surprised by how similar the two are. However, the oil traps for both engines are different.
In addition, I thought I would mention that it was really difficult getting to the bolts on the intake manifold since I had to squeeze my socket wrench and unbolt the bolts a tiny bit at a time. The bolt closest to the alternator required me to use two socket wrench extensions to get at it. The bolt attached to the dipstick was even worse. I used a smaller extension and unbolted it in much smaller increments at a time. I would try doing that with the PCV but decided to take a break and ask here since it is 104°F outside!
Anyways, this T6 Volvo has 235,000 miles! I really appreciate your tips.
Thanks!
