Hey folks, have a 2001 V70 that needs strut mount bearings. I am pretty handy and will be doing the job myself. I have seen a lot of video on the process and some of them install the cross nut with the cross up and some with it facing down. Is there a correct way to install it? Don't want to have to do it twice.

 

Easy rule of thumb, install it the up you found it. In this case cross up is the way it comes off, cross up is the way it goes back in.

If you install it the wrong way, the metal faces that must came in contact wont fit. The nut was cross up on my S60.
