etm problems
HI
I have bought a volvo v70 from 2002 2.4i 140hp
I'm sure I have a throttle (etm) problem, as it is difficult to keep stable idle .. and I have the weakest etm module on mine, since it is the one with the white label on the etm, I can ease take it with yellow label and mount to my volvo, without having to go to volvo myself and get it updated to work on my vehicle ??

From my experience, each ETM is coded to the vehicle. You cannot swap them around.
Before condemning the ETM, remove it and clean both sides. They carbon up and it causes irregular airflow. Also, check that the crankcase breather is not plugged as that will force air into the intake stream and confuse the computer.

The issue is that engine+etm where updated several times and old and new sw are incompatible. That makes buying used ETM painful. it is not guarantied that if you buy etm from the same model year and engine car it will work for you.
It will work if update level is the same.
As for "yellow" labeled ETMs the probability of having recent software it it is higher than in the "white" one. So if sw in your car is updated that makes bigger chance that yellow ETM from same car (engine and MY) will work ok.

Can someone tell me if i have a etm problem or the way the car act is normal..
it idle at 800 rpm but when the A/C turn on it goes down to 500 - 600 rpm then up to 800 rpm again , when i drive and change gear Manual gearbox, the rpm raise abit, it depends where i have the trottle at, and there goes a couple of sekunds before the rpm drops, and it only does that when the car warm, when the car i cold there is no problem, no rpm raise between gearshifts and the rpm drop immediately when i press the clutch to shift gear.. is that normal or???
