Default Removing window switch

The mirror joystick on my 2001 V70 is broken so I figured that I'd get one at a junkyard.

I started prying at the switch module in my door and it did not want to come out easily. I didn't want to destroy the upholstery on the door handle so I stopped prying.

Is there a trick to getting the switch out?

Thanks.

you have to remove the door panel in order to remove the switch. there is a torx 25 that you have to remove inside the door panel.

Can they make things any more complicated?

I found an online video about removing the window switch from a 2000 V70 and it just popped out. I figured that my car would be the same since in every car that I've ever had with window switches in the door they just popped out.

That just seems like some really bad design work.

Okay, what are the tricks to removing the door panel?

Found a Youtube video on removing the door panel. I never would have figured that one out.
