Default Considering buying a used XC70...

New Member and I'm joining because I can't find any information on this subject...I've search and haven't really found anything...

Can anyone give me information about why the XC70 has seemingly never been crash tested here in the US?

I'm buying this as a potential family car for when kid number 2 comes around (my wife is very very much against any kind of SUV or minivan) - I know that Volvo has a stellar reputation when it comes to safety...but why hasn't this car been tested with the post-2011 tests? And never by the IIHS? The only test I can find of any kind is a European NCAP test of the 2009 V70...

Again I know that Volvo has a great reputation for safety - I just don't know that I can buy a family car without any kind of standardized test data.

Thank you for responding.

I'm not sure, some body correct me if I'm wrong; I think the car manufacturers, don't crash test every car MYs, They only test when they change new architectural of new frame and body materials of the new model, Just have a peace of mind when you buy a Volvo as family car it will be much safer than any (I'm not a stereotype here) Japanese cars, my wife had a 2013 Toyota, even though my 07 XC70 is179+K miles it run much better, and very stable on the highway
