Transmission Fun Ness....
lol thanks!
just out of curiousity, sometimes i like to downshift the car2 to 1, and I dont get a kick down. it just downshifts and doesnt slow the car down like it use too. Some times I like to downshift 2 to 1 just to take a turn quick and drop back using the kick down feature and well it didnt do it today.

surprisingly from my scanner no, but most likely my scanner canr read them right? Could it be the Transmission fluid being low could do it?when the car was driven for 2 hrs i checked it and the fluid was only at the cold level.

. Its surging again (1000-3000 rmps), no stalls, no codes (which is the weird part). since they cleaned my ETM its been Driving ALOT better, but do you think I might need a new ETM? Is not having that downshifting kick back feeling a bad thing?
also did I hear right that these cars cannot have a wireless start installed in them?

Try this to see if the ECM or TCM have codes. Press in the read button and hold it. Then while holding it press and release the rear foglight switch 3 times fast. Then release the read and in the window it will say something like checking for DTC's stored in car. Then press the read button to go through the module and see what modules have codes in them. It only tells you what module have codes. It will not give codes.
Remote starts can be installed but it is a major pain to get it installed and working.

Where is that metal collar supposed to be located? I just had the tranny rebuilt on my XC90 (2004 T6), and it was making the hissing noise described by gordon386, and the steering wheel was squeaking. I lubricated the steering shaft where it goes into the rubber boot at the floor board which stopped the squeaking, and I noticed a metal collar that fits around the neck of the boot. It's not attached, it just sits in place. Is that supposed to be there, or did it fall out of place from higher up on the shaft? Was wondering how the metal collar was related to the hissing noise. I would greatly appreciate your feedback.
it sounds like u have more then 1 problems. u need to isolate the problems first before u diagnosis the problem. first the transmission does need to be learn, but not by just normal driving. u need to hood up to a volvo computer (Vida) which there is a function for tcm reset adaptation, there is a procedure for that & is kind of complicated. Also u need to check it the TCM software upgraded or not. also did they used OEM trans. fluid, it does make a different. The engine stall, I suggest u get a Vida to scan it, at least get a proper diagnosis before u start to spend any money.
