[:@] So... I actually own two, 240s. A 92 Silver/Black and a 91 White/Blue. Both are in premium condition. I'm going to sell the 92, but the wipers just went. The motor works, but the wipers don't move. I've got one estimate for a repair - $850. Apparently this is a "known" problem and Volvo actually makes a kit, especially designed for this repair. But in the '92...you cant get to the wiper motor unless you remove the dash, etc. Wow. What a pain. Is this really the only solution? Any other thoughts? (When I sell the car, I'll come clean with this one problem and probably split the estimate as part of the selling process. I should still be able to get $4K for the car...it's that good.

 

What did they say is bad?

The motor should still come out without removing the dash just like any other 240.

If the Transmission for the wipers is bad then maybe Dash removal.

 

The dash removal isn't that bad....fairly easy as long as you keep all the screws organized
