Default 1984 Volvo 244 GL kick down cable pulled

My pedal all of a sudden was stuck and I pressed it and it got really easy to press, I looked and noticed the kick down cable is pulled, I tried pushing it back on but nothing and I tried pulling it to see if it was broken but also nothin.

Here's a picture of it:

A common reason a kickdown cable get stuck out is rust - you can try to unbolt it it, point it straight up, slide the orange rubber cover back and try to get lubricant/rust penetrant between the inner and outer cables - if no luck with that you'll have to replace it. With the cable pulled out like that it will shift very late or not at all.
