Interested on opinions between buying a new aftermarket motor versus used volvo part, in terms of longevity, especially considering that the last 240s were made 22 years ago.

 

Depends on the aftermarket, maybe 70% of the stuff on ebay will not fit your car (despite what the tags say).

When I needed a wiper motor for my '90 240 wagon I went to a pick n pull and grabbed a semi-ratty example off a sunroof 240, even in the thickest of rains that darned thing worked like a champ.

I'd rather buy junk than expensive "refurbished" junk.
