Hi Good people. I have a 940 driving me nuts for 8 years. Initially it would stall out of the blue and after a while restart. Finally wouldn't start and after fuel and spark supply checked out ok the ECU replaced and ran fine. After a few months the start stall restarted. The mechanic replaced the fuel pump relay but after a few days it stalled. The mechanic suspected fuel pumps issues. After replacing the in tank pump it ran for 1 week then started intermittently refusing to rev up and completely stalled. He replaced the main fuel pump which he thought had failed and after installing the pump would not power up. An electrician went through the car and concluded the ECU needs replacing again !!!!
Any ideas ???? PLEASE

 

Has he changed the Crankshaft Sensor? First thing to look at in such cases. I'm skeptical of ECU blaming, "always blame the computer" when we can't figure something out...

Keep at it, we'll figure it out.
