1992 volvo 240 with ABS. The other week I drove over a really bad pothole and the speedometer started bouncing around and then the ABS light came on. Now there are "undertones" of the ABS when I brake at low speeds (fluttering in the pedalfeel). So just now I go under the car to check the speed sensor at the differential--no severed cables. But then I noticed this lead with a clip harness hanging from halfway down the driveshaft (right around the catalytic converter). Anyone know if this cable is related to my ABS/speedo symptoms? close up
the wheel speed sensors and the transmission speed sensors feed into the ABS controller which also feeds into the speedo. SO, if you wacked a speed sensor, yes I'd expect either/both the ABS and speedo to act up.

That could be the remains of the wiring to the overdrive solenoid that's been bypassed.
