I need new front brakes on my 1991 740 turbo and don't know how to tell if I have ABS or not. I need this info to order the correct rotors. Can anyone descride how I can tell? I do know that I have Girling calipers.
You DO have ABS... they were standard. Anyway, the way to tell, ABS light should come on when the ignition is on, etc.
You are saying, or you said, all those years ago, "they were standard." You meant they were standard in new front 1991 740 turbo, specifically, correct? Why Volvo couldn't manage to clearly indicate whether the vehicle you have, has ABS or not, is more than absurd. I mean, put a blasted label on the vehicle. Or is there one, and I've missed it?
Standard on 1991 Turbo, optional on earlier years but the turbos are more likely to have ABS. Because of that the manuals of that era are not specific.
