Never hurts to ask but you are in the 850 section.
You would have better luck here:
Volvo 240, 740 & 940 - Volvo Forums - Volvo Enthusiasts Forum
Do you have a 850 too?

Having the same issue /w '91 Volvo 24O(sedan) non/turbo ... Cruise Control stopped working ; can hear sometype of noise when attempting to engage cruise control, as thO it is making the attempt @ setting desired speed, once release button NOTHING. Also hearing a hissing sound from under dash when brakes are applied , gas milage as gone dramatically lower along /w it! Have checked both 'check valves'
- 1.) front of brake booster
- 2.) top of motor running horizontal when looking @ motor /w hood opened
Both checked out fine [[b]BLOW TEST = open one direction-closed the other.]
So, if someone has any advice as to what could be the issue, and/or how to fix these problems i'm having , it would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! i contemplated possible issue /w charging/alternator being as høw car will bog-down and seem to almost die when coming to a stop, but i honestly don't knOw! replaced alternator just last year when chasing down a strange electrical/charging problem that ended up being the Harmonic Balancer needed replacing.
** Wana talk about a frustrating ordeal? at times leaving me at a complete lose! ended up replacing ECU , spark plugs / wires, 2 alternators, new ignition coil, and stripping/chasing numerous wires in search of shorts before stumbling upon some info regarding the 2 piece Harmonic Balancer and the rubber between the two pieces failing causing things to not turn as they should. But, that's all in the past, and GRATEFUL for iT! **
so, ANY help on this seeming vacuum problem(s) i'm having now would be much appreciated, THANK YOU!
