Front windshield washer hose question
There are two hoses running off of my front wiper motor. One runs to the nozzles on the hood for the windshield, the second goes up about 12 inches then just ends (near the mount for the air filter). It sprays fluid into the engine compartment when I use the washers. Should this second hose lead to another hose or be capped?
the washer hoses don't have anything to do with the wiper motor, they come off the little pump in the washer tank up front.
what car is this? 240? 740? 940? sedan or wagon? a wagon has a second pump that runs the rear window washer

Sorry, meant pump not motor. It's a 740 gl wagon. The rear pump has one hose that runs to the back. The front pump has a single hose with a 'T' that turns into the the two hoses I mentioned. I've read a few forums that talk about headlight wipers using a second hose, my car does not have those wipers.
it may originally have had a plug or something, and is probably a stub for the optional headlight washers. Much like how my 740 didn't come with foglights, yet all the wiring harness was in place for them, so I just had to replace the switch with the 3-position fog switch, and plug my aftermarket fogs into the existing connectors next to the headlights...
